A compensation payment has been made to Dylan Mutunga Ryan in respect of a specified claim under the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“Act”).

The Act requires that after the Secretary of Justice makes certain deductions from the compensation payment, the surplus remaining goes into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account to enable victims of Dylan Mutunga Ryan to make claims against it

Any money left after any victims’ claims have been paid will be paid to Dylan Mutunga Ryan.

On 20 June 2024, $12,000.00 was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of Dylan Mutunga Ryan.

The money paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account is held in trust for Dylan Mutunga Ryan until it has been paid out in accordance with subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.

Any person who has been a victim of Dylan Mutunga Ryan, in respect of an offence for which Dylan Mutunga Ryan was convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Dylan Mutunga Ryan.

Claims by victims are not limited to the amount available in the Trust Account.
