Control of Lake Taupo Water Level Pursuant to section 6 of the Lake Taupo Compensation Claims Act 1947, the Minister of Energy hereby gives notice that the Taupo Control Gates, being the works defined in section 2 of that Act, have been used in part to control the waters of Lake Taupo at a level higher than the maximum working level of 357.387 metres above sea level Moturiki datum (1956 survey) specified in section 2 of the Act, which level was exceeded at 1 p.m., 15 July 1998 and continues to be exceeded at the date of this notice.
