Pursuant to section 11(4) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 (“Act”), the Electricity Authority gives the following notice.

1. Title and Commencement

(1) This notice is the Electricity Industry (Exemption No. 245 Meridian Energy Limited) Revocation Notice 2023.

(2) This notice comes into force on the day after the date it is notified in the New Zealand Gazette.

2. Revocation of Exemption

(1) The Electricity Industry (Exemption No. 245 Meridian Energy Limited) Exemption Notice 2016, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 22 December 2016, Issue No.121, Notice No. 2016-au7292 (exemption 245) is revoked.

3. Reasons for Revoking the Exemption

The reasons for revoking exemption 245 are:

1. ICP 0009805800AL991 has had metering installed and subtraction is not required to determine submission information; and
2. Meridian Energy Limited has confirmed that it can comply with the Code without needing an exemption; and
3. revoking exemption 245 meets the requirements in section 11(4) of the Act.
